Qs FROM CONSTITUENTS: ARE YOU FOR OR AGAINST EXPANDING NATURAL GAS INFRASTRUCTURE?

This blog series explores some of the questions I have been asked by Grey Highlands' constituents. This post explores weather or no to expand natural gas infrastructure.

With so many of you running for Grey Highlands council, the choice is made a bit difficult. Just the same, we commend you for making the effort.

However, the one item that interests my wife & I is whether you are for or against bringing natural gas to parts of our township.

I voted against the creation of a Natural Gas (NG) Task Force at Grey Highlands, but unfortunately the vote carried 4 to 3. I believe that we need to keep carbon in the ground, and cannot afford any more related emissions. I believe we are in a climate emergency and we should act like it.

Now, and at the risk of sounding too much like a "politician", :-) I am watching how Green Hydrogen can use existing NG infrastructure with little investment; however, this has not changed my stance on adding any more NG infrastructure in Grey Highlands.
